Rainbow Reins NZ was created by Artist and vet nurse Toni. Toni has rescued several horses over the years including wild Kiamanawa ponies that she has trained and even competed successfully in some large New Zealand Equine events. 

One day one of the ponies got a dislocated tail and needed some weight removed so he could heal. Toni cut the tail and saw how beautiful it was and used some of her jewelry making skills to create some horse hair bracelets. As soon as other riders saw the bracelets they were keen to order their own and thus Rainbow Reins was created.

Toni uses the funds from Rainbow Reins to pay for her rescue ponies and other animals she rescues that are kept at her beautiful farm in Northland. All the animals live as natural a life as possible as Toni uses natural remedies first and foremost no sprays on the farm. 

The ponies are often seen running through the the trees and wading in the river and have that feeling of freedom in large paddocks with streams, bush and space to be themselves.
